Your Basic PS3 troubleshooting guide

1. While playing if your PS3 happens to freeze, push in the power button for ten second to shut down your system. You may then turn it on again.

2. You will know your system is running too hot if it flashes green or red. Cool off your system by shutting it down. Move your console away from other heat sources.

3. If it is flashing red you know your PS3 is operated under a critical state. Do not restart your system until it is cooled. Move your console away from other heat sources.

4. Look at the DVD your trying to play. Also, make sure it will play in your PS3. It is possible the disk just wont play on your PS3.

5. If you cannot find your network, try your Ethernet connection. Also make sure the cable is plugged into your system.

6. If you have a dialup modem, you cannot use your PS3 with this. You can only use broadband internet.

Troubleshooting PS3 DVDs

1. Clean the disk if your PS3 does not recognize it. Also, make sure your disk has not been corrupted by heat or sunlight. Always protect your game by placing them in a case. 2. If you copied any DVDs, make sure they finished.

3. NTSC standard must be used with any disk you recorded.

4. If a disk is stuck, touch the eject button for 10 seconds to remove the disk for your system. Shut down the system after you have removed the disk and then turn it back on.

5. You should never hook up your PS3 to a VCR or attach it so a TV/VCR combo. You will get a distorted picture since Sony assumes you are trying to copy copyrighted content.

1. If you are not getting sound from your system, make sure that you did not push mute on your TV.

3. Copy protected disks will sometimes not play in your PS3.

4. All of your PS3 audio in and output settings should be set up properly.

5. You should make sure that your TV input mode will work with the PS3 connectors.

6. You should also make sure that video settings will work with the PS3. If it is not, you need to disconnect the other components. If you touch the power button if about five seconds, you will reset the video standards.
