What 4G Wireless Can Mean to You

Often times when people hear a new tech term such as “4G Wireless” they don’t so much care about what it means as much as they are interested in what it can mean to them personally. Unconcerned about the technical aspects such as WiMax and LTE and how they vary from past technologies, they just want to know whether the addition of this latest technology will make a measurable difference in their lives. When it comes to 4G wireless, you are sure to notice a definite change in the way you live your daily life.

 

The first thing you will notice is the speed and facility at which you can access all of your usual web pages. In comparison to the old 3G network, 4G wireless is the wide open country road to 3G’s congested city traffic. At these speeds, accessing sophisticated sites with streaming music and video are a piece of cake and require virtually no load time. You can even communicate to people through video chat on the go through Skype which would be a tall order on the 3G network. Not only is 4G four times faster faster than 3G wireless, but it’s also faster than satellite broadband and WiFi. Apart from hardwire DSL, 4G wireless is the leader of the pack in internet speeds.

 

If you’re wondering why you should choose the second fastest option if DSL has been around all of this time, it’s because the benefits of having a completely wireless system outweigh the slight speed increase that come with a hardwired system. Rather than having to rely on WiFi hotspots when you’re out of the house, you can use your 4G mobile air card to access internet in even the unlikeliest of places, such as in the middle of a park with no WiFi in range. All you need to do is plug the USB stick into your laptop and you’re ready to browse.

 

Now that you are able to access internet anywhere, think about all of the places you were once restricted that you really could have used a connection. For example, how many times have you been in transit somewhere to turn something in on a deadline when there suddenly were unexpected delays. With 4G wireless, you can send your work or school project instantly from the train, bus, taxi or your car. You can also use commute time to get work done or occupy yourself with any of the infinite entertainment options offered on the internet.

 

When you take into consideration all that 4G allows you to do that no other service does, it makes sense to choose it over even DSL, which is technically the faster service. It simply makes no sense to tether yourself to your home and rely on hotspots and WiFi from public places when you can carry around your own personal internet to places where WiFi never dared reach. Best of all, you can get 4G wireless for probably the same amount or less than you’re already paying for your current internet service.
