The Weber Q220 Grill Review – What Makes This Portable Grill So Great?

Have you ever noticed that not all portable grills are alike? Most are flimsy pieces of sheet metal that last for a couple of years and then ether fall apart or start to rust. The Weber q220 portable grill is an exception to this and proves that you can have a portable grill that is both sturdy and will last a long time.

I have actually been cooking on the Weber q220 grill for a few years now and it still continues to amaze me which is why I decided to write a review about it. Weber did a great job designing this grill and although it is a little heavy, it can really take a beating. I was tailgating once with a couple of friends and the q220 grill actually fell off my truck and hit the ground pretty hard. Good thing it wasn’t lit, but it still works great even to this day which is surprising because I thought it was a goner!

The amount of cooking space on this grill is pretty impressive to. I can actually cook quite a bit at a time on the 280 square inches of cooking space that Weber provides. At first I didn’t think that it would be enough and was thinking about getting a larger grill instead. I am glad I didn’t because the q220 is perfect for what I use it for and can cook plenty of food for me and a few friends.

What I really like about this grill though are the two folding side tables that come with the q220. I can’t tell you how handy it is to have somewhere to set the plate of meat down so you can open the grill. They are made of plastic and can’t hold that much weight, but they still are a very handy feature.

Another thing that I like is the cast iron grill grate. It gets nice and hot quickly and you can easily sear a steak to perfection without even really trying. The cast iron construction of the grate does make it a bit heavier than most other grills, but the extra weight is well worth it.

So if you are trying to decide on whether or not to get this grill for yourself or a loved one, I just want to say that you really can’t go wrong with it. For the price it is the best portable grill I have used and many other people agree, just look at some of the reviews on Amazon!
