archos 5 wont turn on?

Ok i just received the Archos 5 with android internet tablet that i purchased from Amazon, it is not used is brand new, so i opened it up and it wont start! do i have to charge it when is first time out of the box use? well i connected it to the computer with the usb cable and there is a green light. Does it supposed to turn on when is connected to the usb charging? hope is not broken!

You should fully charge the device first. Then press and hold the power button for a second, then release. It should start up with out any problem. If you have any difficulty, contact Amazon for a replacement. They may tell you to get a hold of Archos which you can do too http://store.archos.com
