What is up with this “Internet Antivirus Pro” that keeps popping up on my screen telling me I am infected?

What is up with this “Internet Antivirus Pro” that keeps popping up on my screen telling me I am infected and how do I get rid of it without having to spend more money. Just had the Geek Squad get the 360 Antivirus off my computer and then this happens. What is this and why? I was told by Comcast CSR that it is bogus and to ignore but eventually will need to correct. Any advice would be greatly appreciated Thanks!!!

I am by no means an expert but in my experience the majority of these POP UPS are MARKETING SCHEMES. Chances are your system is not infected. Most BROWSERS include POP UP software. The process for all goes something like this, TOOLS/ POP UP BLOCKER/SETTINGS. From there you can change from low to high. Also use a FIREWALL. Windows has one. CONTROL PANEL/SECURITY,FIREWALL/TURN ON FIREWALL. Or you can download one. I use ZONE ALARM FREE. You can allow or disallow pop ups in the wall from the interface under the TOOLS screen. ZA will also send you alerts when something not asked for enters. You can again allow or deny as needed, or select the check box that will remember you decision for that occasion. Over time the alerts will go away almost completely.
