What kind of internet advertising is most recommended?

I am starting a a business for fitness/nutrition consulting and offering a natural product line as well. I’d like to know if any of you have any recommendations for where/how to advertise on the net? Banner ads? Ezines? Other types?

If you are marketing other companies products (affiliate marketing) you could market your affiliate link in many free places. If you have an advertising budget then take the time to learn pay-per-click advertising, however yo will need to have your own website for PPC.
