This is especially true if it is a portable gas grill. No need to wait a long time until those coals get hot enough, no need to stand over the grill fanning the flame. With a gas grill it’s so much simpler – ignite, and let the burners work their magic. The TTB – Time To Burger (between unloading the grill from your car to the first burger you eat) – has never been shorter.

Introducing: Weber Q 200, Portable Propane Grill

The Weber Q200 is a portable propane (gas) barbecue made with outdoor grilling in mind. It is a hybrid grill that works great for everyday cooking at home, as well as outdoors excursions. The Q200 has a five years limited warranty, which you are not likely to use.

Assembly – Will I Be Able To Do It?

Yes. Even if you’re one of these people who can never get anything right – you’ll be fine with the Q 200. The grill is delivered to your door almost fully assembled. There are only two things you’ll need to do. Are you sitting down?

The first thing you’ll have to do is attach the handle to the lid. This is really easy. Seriously. Waking up in the morning is harder than that.

The second thing you’ll need to do yourself is push the trip tray into place.

That’s it. Your new Weber grill is ready for use!

Cooking Power – How Hot Is Hot?

As far as cooking power goes, the Weber isn’t very attractive compared with other options (for example – Coleman’s Roadtrip XLE). It has an impressive 12,000 BTU on a single burner – but that’s the problem: it is a single burner.

For comparison sake, the Coleman boasts two 10,000 BTU burners – almost twice the cooking power for almost the same price.

Now, the 12,000 BTU will get you a long way as far as grilling hamburgers go, and it’s ok for brewing a cup of coffee, but that’s about it. Forget about creamy sauces, pan dishes and the rest of the more serious cooking.

But hey – look on the bright side – you’ll be able to make delicious pancakes!

Weight – How Portable Is Portable?

There’s no easy way to say it. The Q 200 weighs 41lbs. That’s quite heavy. The grate itself weighs a bombastic 25lbs.

Before you start looking for a different grill to buy, remember that the Q200 costs so much because it is made of high quality materials. The grate is cast iron, meaning it is heavy duty and is not likely to give up on you. Being cast iron it is also very easy to clean – another plus.
