Business Class Optical Internet in Tucson Az

Tucson Business,… You DO have an alternative to an overpriced and outdated “legacy” copper wire, T1 solution…Think “Optical Internet” or OI

Optical Internet (OI) is a “Fiber direct to the premises” offered by a few different ILEC’s and CLEC’s around the USA . It is a Fiber Optic dat product service via an ethernet handoff. OI is primarily for medium- to large-sized businesses, and government and educational entities who need a high-capacity, dedicated connection to the Internet.

Optical Internet (OI) is designed for enterprises requiring a very-high speed, scalable and symmetrical Internet connection. OI also meets the needs of enterprises who require Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) mail feed and outbound relay services in support of company Mail servers; primary and secondary Domain Name Service (DNS) and IP address leasing in support of company servers (Web, Mail, FTP, etc.), routers and firewalls; and multi-homing/Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) routing, Newsgroup access, and Managed Router-based access and security services.

Optical Internet can also scale to meet the needs of small and medium businesses (SMBs) who need a cost-effective, reliable alternative to DSL services or higher cost T1 Internet connections.

Optical Internet is available at a variety of bandwidth tiers, providing businesses with a scalable, highly customizable solution to their Internet service needs.

Connect customer equipment via standard interfaces or choose fiber Managed Router option and save on capital costs.

Enhanced Protection Option

Enhanced Protection Option (EPO) is an optional service that improves the reliability of your Optical Internet circuit. EPO utilizes both electronic redundancy and fiber path diversity techniques to deliver a highly available connection.

With EPO, CLEC supplied electronics at the customer’s premise(s) are provisioned with 1:N or 1:1 electronic redundancy for each circuit delivered, providing a backup to unexpected electronic failures. EPO may also provide two physically separate fiber optic paths between a customer premise and the CLEC Master Telecommunication Center (MTC) that serves it. This enables CELC’s and ILEC’s to provide both a working and protect circuit to guard against a service interruption caused by a fiber optic cable cut or failure.

Optical Internet with EPO provides your business with a highly-reliable, high uptime Internet service to meet the needs of your most demanding and mission-critical Internet-based applications and systems.

In addition to the specific features, benefits and strengths of Optical Internet, OI customers also benefit from the overall strength of Fiber Optic Communications

Optical Internet offers a high-value alternative to Internet services provided by the ILEC and other CLECs, and local, regional or national Internet Service Providers (ISPs).

So do not settle for just getting a bunch of overpriced and inferior T1′s when you do have superior products availiable from multiple other sources to include Fiber optic drive ClEC’s that offer “Optical Internet”

Optical Illusions by Endlich, Lisa Edition ILL, 0

Optical Illusions by Endlich, Lisa Edition ILL, 0

$13.99

When Lucent Technologies was spun off from AT&T in 1996, the new company was full of promise. An old-line manufacturer, it quickly became a sizzling hot stock thanks to the emergence of the Internet and the build-up of telecommunications. The stock market was soaring, and Lucent flew with it. Within a few short years it became the sixth-largest corporation in America and the most widely held stock in the country. Yet only months later, Lucent was gasping for life, victim of the greatest stock-market bubble in history. Optical Illusions is the story of a financially sound company steeped in world-class talent, dominant in one of the fastest-growing industries, that in the space of two years found itself downgraded to a junk-bond credit rating, under investigation by the SEC for its accounting practices, the value of its stock reduced to the price of a cup of coffee. Lisa Endlich tells the fascinating tale of the company that epitomized the misfortunes of the telecom industry, leaving investors and employees shocked and confused. In writing this book Endlich had access to more than a hundred people who played a role in the drama, as well as previously sealed courtroom documents. She explains how the conflicting styles of CEOs Henry Schacht and Rich McGinn contributed to Lucent’s woes, and she shows how the loss of skilled executives such as Carly Fiorina hurt the company at a crucial moment. When it was all over, Schacht — Lucent’s first CEO, who was later brought back to right the listing ship — acknowledged that Lucent had allowed itself to be swept up in the market mania, distorting its corporate values in the process. Although the stock-market mania of the late 1990s is remembered as the Internet craze or the dot-com madness, as Optical Illusions shows, the damage was more widespread and lasting. In fighting for its survival, Lucent laid off more than 70 percent of its employees, wrecking retirees’ savings and investors’ portfolios alike.

$115.95

Broadband networks, such as asynchronous transfer mode (ATM), frame relay, and leased lines, allow us to easily access multimedia services (data, voice, and video) in one package. Exploring why broadband networks are important in modern-day telecommunications, Introduction to Broadband Communication Systems covers the concepts and components of both standard and emerging broadband communication network systems. After introducing the fundamental concepts of broadband communication systems, the book discusses Internet-based networks, such as intranets and extranets. It then addresses the networking technologies of X.25 and frame relay, fiber channels, a synchronous optical network (SONET), a virtual private network (VPN), an integrated service digital network (ISDN), broadband ISDN (B-ISDN), and ATM. The authors also cover access networks, including digital subscriber lines (DSL), cable modems, and passive optical networks, as well as explore wireless networks, such as wireless data services, personal communications services (PCS), and satellite communications. The book concludes with chapters on network management, network security, and network testing, fault tolerance, and analysis. With up-to-date, detailed information on the state-of-the-art technology in broadband communication systems, this resource illustrates how some networks have the potential of eventually replacing traditional dial-up Internet. Requiring only a general knowledge of communication systems theory, the text is suitable for a one- or two-semester course for advanced undergraduate and beginning graduate students in engineering as well as for short seminars on broadband communication systems.

 Fiber Optics: Physics and Technology

Fiber Optics: Physics and Technology

$99

Telephone, telefax, email and internet — the key ingredient of the inner workings is the conduit: the line which is designed to carry massive amounts of data at breakneck speed. In their data-carrying capacity optical fiber lines beat other technologies (copper cable, microwave beacons, satellite links) hands down, at least in the long haul. This book tells you all you want to know about optical fibers: Their structure, their light-guiding mechanism, their material and manufacture, their use. Several effects tend to degrade the signal as it travels down the fiber: they are spelled out in detail. Nonlinear processes are given due consideration for a twofold reason: On the one hand they are fundamentally different from the more familiar processes in electrical cable. On the other hand, they form the basis of particularly interesting and innovative applications, provided they are understood well enough. A case in point is the use of so-called solitons, i.e. special pulses of light which have the wonderful property of being able to heal after perturbation. The book will take you from the physical basics of ray and beam optics, explain fiber structure and the functions of optical elements, and bring you to the forefront of applications. The state of the art of high speed data transmission will be described, and the use of fiber optic sensors in metrology is treated. The book is written in a pedagogical style so that students of both physics and electrical engineering, as well as technicians and engineers involved in optical technologies, will benefit. Prof. Fedor Mitschke, a German physicist, was involved in pioneering work on fiber-optic solitons at Bell Laboratories in 1985-86. He has held teaching positions at universities in Hannover, Munich, Munster, and Rosk (all in Germany). Since 1997 he holds the chair for optics at the Institute of Physics at Rosk University. This book grew out of lectures he gave at Hannover, Munster, Rosk,
