All the Features of an IPod and a Whole Lot More – Archos MP3 Players
When it comes to portable media devices these days there is one real undeniable leader in when it comes to marketplace share and unit sales, and that is the Apple iPod. But that doesn’t denote that the iPod is the only game in town — not by a long shot. There are many diverse brands of MP3 players on the marketplace which are quite akin to the Apple in not only the features they provide but also the cost. You can take the latest player from the Gen 5 line up of Archos MP3 players as a prime example of this, as for the price and quality of the device it gets my highest vote. Not too long ago I picked up the 80 GB 605 WiFi model and I am so impressed with it that I am not the least bit depressed that I got rid of my iPod.
There are quite a few assorted qualities that separate the Archos MP3 players from other brands of players on the marketplace. It of course plays music like all the rest of them, and with the 80 gigs of storage that I have, I’ve been able to put every song that I have onto the 605 WiFi with tons of room left over. Many digital file types are supported, including .mp3, .wav, and .wma (protected or not). It is a really nice feature because it means that I don’t have to wait around for conversion software in order to download my songs. Features like this make it a much more versatile and convenient player than many other brands.
The Gen 5 line up is much more than a simple music player though. The Archos line up of MP3 players has a very high quality 4.3 inch color touchscreen which is very simply turned on with the touch of a finger or stylus that’s included. This makes navigation through all of the assorted menus very simple. The large monitor is also perfect for watching movies, TV shows, or streaming YouTube videos. The picture is amazingly sharp and shows up clearly in lots of different lighting situations. Whenever I see somebody trying to watch a movie or something on their tiny iPod display I just have to shake my head and feels sorry for them. Why put yourself through that when the bigger, better Archos MP3 players are available?
One of the really cool features that I enjoy about the Archos MP3 players the fact that I don’t have to be connected to a PC to deal with my contents. Because it has a unpretentious WiFi connection, I can do all of my downloading on the go. To make things even better, the Archos player is equipped with the Opera web browser which makes it incredibly easy for me to surf the web play games and check my e-mail. Try to do that on many of the other devices out there. Most of the other brands leave you stuck in the mud when you’re not at a PC and you can’t do an update until you are.
If you’re honestly considering the purchase of a portable media player, stand out from the horde and make the investment into something that’s a lot better than the name brand iPod. Instead, I recommend giving Gen 5 Archos MP3 players a try. They are a lot more sophisticated scientifically and they have superior prices than all of the rivalry. Receiving the most for your dollars is what being a smart shopper is all about?
