Is there a measurement or way to tell how tight a fighter aircraft can turn?

How do the manufacturers market there aircraft for maneuverability besides putting on a performance? Do they have a ‘stat sheet’ I guess that tells how maneuverable a fighter aircraft is?

Turning in an aircraft is the consequence of several aspects.
When turning, the aircraft has to have lift from the wing that keep the aircraft in flight, plus more lift for it to actually perform the change in direction. The capability to turn depends, at that point, on the bank angle. If the plane wings is inclined to 30 degree from horizontal, then cosinus(30) * lift = weight, and sinus(30)* lift is the excess lift that can be put into turning.

If you have an airplane that is banking 84 degree, and is keeping its altitude, then only 11% of the total lift is used to fly the plane, and the rest is there to put the plane into a 9 g turn.

Now, here are the restrictions..
Produce 10 times more lift, so as to have 9 units for turning, and you need to have wings that are large enough and/or speed that is high enough to get that much aerodynamic force without stalling. Moreover, all this lift will come with a similar increase in induced drag, so the plane must either lose altitude to maintain speed, or needs to run its engines at a huge level of power.
Then, all this lift is going to punish the structure a lot: the wing has to produce a force that is 9 times the weight of the plane; is it designed for this?
And then, one has to consider the limitation of how many G the pilot can endure.

So, agility of an aircraft is the result of its speed, power, wing area and structural strength.
And how much you are willing to subject the pilot to.

So, yes, the agility of the airplane is part of the specifications; they are perhaps the most influential contribution to the design.

"It’s no secret that you can’t improve your organization’s performance without measuring it. In fact, every function, unit, process, and the organization as a whole, is built and run according to the parameters and expectations of its measurement system. So you’d better make sure you’re doing it right. All too often, performance measurement creates dysfunction, whether among individuals, teams, or across entire divisions and companies. Most traditional measurement systems actually encourage unhealthy competition for personal gain, creating internal conflict and breeding distrust of performance measurement.Transforming Performance Measurement presents a breakthrough approach that will not only significantly reduce those dysfunctions, but also promote alignment with business strategy, maximize cross-enterprise integration, and help everyone to work collaboratively to drive value throughout your organization.Performance improvement thought leader Dean Spitzer explains why performance measurement should be less about calculations and analysis and more about the crucial social factors that determine how well the measurements get used. His ""socialization of measurement"" process focuses on learning and improvement from measurement, and on the importance of asking such questions as: How well do our measures reflect our business model? How successfully are they driving our strategy? What should we be measuring and not measuring? Are the right people having the right measurement discussions?Performance measurement is a dynamic process that calls for an awareness of the balance necessary between seemingly disparate ideas: the technical and the social aspects of performance measurement. For example, you need technology to manage the flood of data, but you must make sure that it supports the people who will be making decisions and taking action crucial to your organization’s success. This book shows you how to design that technical-social balance into your measurement system. While it is urgent to start taking action now, transforming your organization’s performance measurement system will take time. Transforming Performance Measurement gives you assessment tools to gauge where you are now and a roadmap for moving, with little or no disruption, to a more ""transformational"" and mature measurement system. The book also provides 34 TMAPs, Transformational Measurement Action Plans, which suggest both well-accepted and ""emergent"" measures (in areas such as marketing, human resources, customer service, knowledge management, productivity, information technology, research and development, costing, and more) that you can use right away.In the end, you get what you measure. If you measure the wrong things, you will take your company farther and farther away from its mission and strategic goals. Transforming Performance Measurement tells you not only what to mea

Clicks and Mortar: Passion Driven-Growth in an Internet-Driven World

Clicks and Mortar: Passion Driven-Growth in an Internet-Driven World

$1.99

The Internet has brought on an “increasing speed of change and decreasing control of the throttle” for established businesses, two high-level Charles Schwab executives say in this management guidebook for the new economy. “Five workers sharing an e-mail system is a productivity enhancement; 100 million people, many of them your customers, online to your central systems is a whole new way of life.” Coauthors David Pottruck and Terry Pearce say this new dynamic does not lend itself to old management theories. Consequently, they offer a business strategy that mixes “clicks” — the virtually unlimited information available via the Internet — with “mortar,” which they describe as “the passion that created the business, the passion that drives employees and that creates loyal customers.” Their overall aim is to provide readers “with new tools to grow a business, some insight into what it will take to grow yourself at the same time, and a strong sense that the two are inseparable.” Highlights: Examines how to build and sustain a “passionate corporate culture” for the Internet age by using stories, rituals and images. Explores the leadership traits needed to lead a passion-driven company, including a look at how “personal leadership can balance the inherent objectivity of technology to form an atmosphere where risk and failure are part of the growth process.” Explains how to adapt three traditional business practices — measurement, marketing and management — to the Internet world. For instance, the authors discuss “how traditional business functions such as advertising, marketing, branding, budgeting, recruiting and performance appraisals — oftenconsidered to be bureaucratic, analytical and boring — can be used to create new levels of inspired commitment.” Advantages: The coauthors draw extensively on their experiences in developing Schwab's online operations, because they view the

Commercial Management of Projects: Defining the Discipline

Commercial Management of Projects: Defining the Discipline

$184.99

This is the first book to establish a theoretical framework for commercial management. It argues that managing the contractual and commercial issues of projects – from project inception to completion – is vital in linking operations at the project level and the multiple projects (portfolios/ programmes) level to the corporate core of a company. The book focuses on commercial management within the context of project oriented organisations, for example: aerospace, construction, IT, pharmaceutical and telecommunications – in the private and public sectors. By bringing together contributions from leading researchers and practitioners in commercial management, it presents the state-of-the-art in commercial management covering both current research and best practice. Commercial Management of Projects: defining the discipline covers the external milieu (competition, culture, procurement systems); the corporate milieu (corporate governance, strategy, marketing, trust, outsourcing); the projects milieu (management of uncertainty, conflict management and dispute resolution, performance measurement, value management); and the project milieu (project governance, contract management, bidding, purchasing, logistics and supply, cost value reconciliation). Collectively the chapters constitute a step towards the creation of a body of knowledge and a research agenda for commercial management.

Customer Equity: Building and Managing Relationships as Valuable Assets

Customer Equity: Building and Managing Relationships as Valuable Assets

$0.99

What’s a customer worth? The company that can answer this question precisely is the company with an edge in the customer-based, technology- and information-intensive economy of today. But how can an asset as intangible as customer value be measured? This timely book provides a solution: a fully developed, highly practical new marketing system for measuring and managing customer value as a financial asset-a system uniquely suited to today’s rapidly changing, increasingly digital marketplace. How has the management-or mismanagement-of customer assets played into the successes, failures, at-risk status, or Cinderella stories of GM, Amazon, AOL Time Warner, FedEx, the U. S. Armed Forces, Oprah, Bluefly.com, and Harley Davidson? Drawing on these and other examples, the authors explain the strategies and tactics that make customer equity management work. They outline customer equity’s three core strategies-customer acquisition, customer retention, and add-on selling-and the balance among them, and explain how the customer life cycle affects strategy and the marketing mix. Detailed, how-to chapters follow, clearly mapping out methods and practices for organizational restructuring, customer equity measurement, customer equity accounting, database management, and data analysis. Along with strategic and tactical guidance, Customer Equity provides precise metrics for evaluating a business more effectively and improving performance- the “activity-based management” of a company’s marketplace. The authors present a new framework for structuring go-to-market activities that links those activities to useful metrics and allows better-informed marketing decisions. Marking a decisive move away from the traditional focus on mass marketing and brand equity, Customer Equity equips companies with the knowledge to manage customer portfolios across segments and over time, and gives marketers the means to lengthen customer life cycles, tailor the marketing mix,

Customer Satisfaction Research Management: A Comprehensive Guide to Integrating Customer Loyalty and Satisfaction Metrics in the Management of Complex Organizations

Customer Satisfaction Research Management: A Comprehensive Guide to Integrating Customer Loyalty and Satisfaction Metrics in the Management of Complex Organizations

$66

Successful organizations have shifted from being product-based organizations to customer-based organizations, and customer satisfaction management (CSM) is an integral aspect of this new way of thinking. Successfully measuring customer satisfaction can be complicated and very detailed, requiring a great deal of in depth research and analysis. Customer Satisfaction Research Management is intended for advanced service quality managers and marketing researchers involved in the management of customer satisfaction programs. This is the third book in a series by author Derek Allen, focusing on customer satisfaction measurement, analysis, and implementation. Allen begins with the assumption that the reader has at least a minimal familiarity with the psychometric aspects of customer satisfaction measurement, statistical analysis, and linkage research that attempts to establish a causal relationship between customer attitudes and business outcomes. He then builds on this base to first discuss the theoretical relationship between customer satisfaction and financial performance, and then to dive deep into specific applications of customer satisfaction programs. Some of the areas covered include dealing with the challenges of conducting global customer satisfaction measurement programs, linking performance metrics to management compensation systems and financial outcomes, and results deployment.
