An Ebook Reader – Kindle DX

Amazon’s latest digital book reader release, the popular Kindle DX, is larger and thinner than the first generation Kindle. The newest addition is thinner than most magazines, weighs less than a pound, and is just 1/3 of an inch thick. Don’t be misled by its slim profile, though, because with storage space for up to 3.500 books, the Kindle DX can contain more reading material than a small library.

By carrying this digital book reader in your pocket, you’re essentially carrying a library and all its knowledge with you wherever you go. If you need a book simply search on line, with wireless 3G network access, and then click to buy it. The network offers very quick downloads and a selection of over 300,000 books. Additionally it also offers newspapers and magazines. With wireless network access from any place your are, no need for PC or cell phone, you can have your preferred reading materials in front of you in seconds. This feature comes as part of the Kindle DX service from Amazon and doesn’t require a membership fee or contract.

The Kindle DX screen is large at 9.7″ (diagonally) and mimics the feeling of reading a paper, except this paper has adjustable text size and a long battery life. Battery life translates to 4 days straight if you are reading and accessing the network, and you get two weeks straight if you just read.

The e-ink that the DX uses makes both text and images clear and sharp, as it produces 16 shades of gray. Other e-book readers currently on the market cannot offer you the one-of-a-kind features only available on the Kindle DX. For example, this ereader provides a text-to-speech feature, allowing you to listen to the Kindle read aloud to you from the newspaper, magazines, blogs, and books. Check out a book by being able to download the first chapter, peruse and check it out for free before you commit to buying the it.

The Kindle DX is equipped with a keyboard for you to type the names of books you’d like to read or make notations as you read. You can manipulate the digital text, in order to edit, delete, and export your notes or to copy text that interests you, or mark pages you particularly like. You don’t need to mark the point where you stop reading, because the Kindle remembers that for you and opens right to it when you return. It’s the best in high-tech reading.
