Marketing Your Art – How To Sell And Market Your Art

You probably already knew that you could sell your art in galleries. It’s a matter of negotiating a deal with the gallery owner. Sometimes, the gallery owner might even buy your work outright. But here are some other things you can do for marketing your art – how to sell and market your art.

Develop a web page
Sign up with Host gator or some other ISP, get your domain name from GoDaddy at about $10 and some change for a year, and set-up WordPress on your website through the CPanel of your ISP. There are countless number of free WordPress Themes you can use, many of which include Art or Photo layouts, take pictures of your artwork, upload it to your website, provide a PayPal button and you are in business!

Create Limited Edition Pieces
If you do a print run of your favorite piece of art, this is something that you can sell again and again! Prints are a wonderful way to sell the same piece of art, which makes the original much more valuable.

Sign Your Artwork with A Special Signature And watch as the price climbs. This is a specialty technique that many well-known artists use to add value to their artwork.

Teach A Class To Other Artists – Or people who want to be artists. Oftentimes this will provide many contacts for future events, and sometimes buyers for your art. But it’s a way to get your “name” out there.

Sign Up For Weekend Art Shows – There are art shows constantly being held everywhere; in malls, in outdoor shopping centers, at fairs and festivals and special events. Go online and hunt for art shows in your area. There is usually a fee to display your art, but you can make that up in the weekend, plus some.

Sell Your Art Wholesale – Selling wholesale is not something most artists know about. Selling multiple pieces is like winning the lottery.

Sell on eBay – Most artists aren’t aware that they can sell their artwork on eBay, and this is fast becoming a huge market on eBay.

Marketing your art requires thinking outside of the box. But as an artist, (you more than likely LIVE outside the box) this shouldn’t be too hard.
