How much longer will my computer last?
I use computer for Office, Internet and video streaming (Netflix instant view, quicktime, media player, real player, etc) and nothing more. Gaming I just have my 360 and PS3. How much longer will my computer last before it no longer serves my purposes?
My computer (almost 2.5 years old now):
Intel Celeron D : 2.53 Gigahertz
1 GB PC 3200 (may spend the extra $50 and upgrade to 1.5 GB of ram).
Integrated graphics (works just fine for streaming video….I would say between VHS and DVD quality at the moment).
For your uses it should last until you feel its not fast enough. Performance wise, it depends on your operating system. As long as you use XP, your computer should be more than enough for years to come for the applications you use.

Originally announced in March 1996, the first version was released in May 1996 bundled with the beta version of Internet Explorer 3.0 . When ActiveMovie was installed an option was added to the Start Menu to launch the ActiveMovie Control . This allowed users to play multimedia files and thus was a rudimentary media player.
