What is required to get internet service on a laptop?

I have a router connected to my PC to get wireless service for my laptop. I’d like to do away with the PC. How will I receive internet service without the PC?

you only need the router and the service. Unless you are using the PC as a router then you shouldn’t need it. The router acts like a computer. It just tells the data where to go. If the internet service is connected to the router and the PC is connected to the router, The router is feeding the PC the connection as well as feeding the laptop the connection. The PC is null in the equation.
