I want a 1 camera home security system.?

Little things keep happening in front of my house, first someone took my gps and now I see a scratch in my car. I want to set up a camera that Ican record to an external harddrive or my pc or something but I really dont want to spend hundreds of dollars. I found this Cisco-Linksys Wireless-N Internet Home Monitoring Camera and it looks pretty good but I am not sure if there is any subscription fees..etc etc. Can anyone recommend something for me so I can find the little bastard and give him a beating.
