Can i connect my xbox to the internet with any wireless adapter?

hi, i dont want to purchase a $99 official microsoft/ Xbox 360 Authentic wireless adapter, so i was wondering,
can i connect my xbox wirelessly to the internet with any random adapter from online/retailer

You can’t use another brand of wireless adapter. What you can do is hook up some kind of wireless bridge to your ethernet port on the back of your Xbox. I won’t kid you, this isn’t easy to setup. You have to know a little technical jargon.

You can save some money by getting this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833122338 Look at the reviews of this product. It’s 4 star. The worst rating is a 4 star. I bought this exact product at Best Buy. I actually bought the kit for $127. You need to put in a quantity of 2. I priced it out in the cart. It’s $78 with shipping for 2 of these. You need one for your router and one for your Xbox. Also, make sure you click on the 360 View underneath the product image because it will explain better than I can what this device does.

Unless you have 3 powerline devices, you do not need to run the CD that comes with it. The CD just installs an interface to configure the device. When you just have 2 of these devices, the only thing you need to configure is security. It is plug it in and go, but it’s also a good idea to setup security. On the side of both adapters you’ll see a security button and a reset hold which you need a paper clip for in case you hose it up. Just press and hold the security button in for 2 seconds, and I mean as close to 2 seconds as you can get. Then go to your other device. Within 2 minutes you must press the security button on the second device. You should then see the device reboot by watching the lights on the front. The CD can tell you what speed you are getting, and it can setup VLAN tagging and quality of service which you won’t need with just your Xbox on the network. The quality of service needs to be configured on your router if you’re going to notice anything. The CD does not install a driver.

Aus Wikipedia. Nicht dargestellt. Auszug: Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) is an American-based multinational electronic commerce company. Headquartered in Seattle, Washington, it is America’s largest online retailer, with nearly three times the Internet sales revenue of the runner up, Staples, Inc., as of January 2010. Jeff Bezos founded Amazon.com, Inc. in 1994 and launched it online in 1995 as Cadabra.com. It started as an online bookstore, but soon diversified, selling DVDs, CDs, MP3 downloads, computer software, video games, electronics, apparel, furniture, food, and toys. Amazon has established separate websites in Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Japan, and China. It also provides international shipping to certain countries for some of its products. A 2009 survey found that Amazon was the UK’s favorite music and video retailer, and third overall retailer. Amazon was founded in 1994, spurred by what Bezos called “regret minimization framework”, his effort to fend off regret for not staking a claim in the Internet gold rush. Company lore says Bezos wrote the business plan while he and his wife drove from New York to Seattle,, although that account appears to be apocryphal. The company began as an online bookstore; while the largest brick-and-mortar bookstores and mail-order catalogs for books might offer 200,000 titles, an online bookstore could offer more. Bezos named the company “Amazon” after the world’s largest river. Since 2000, Amazon’s logotype is an arrow leading from A to Z, representing customer satisfaction (as it forms a smile); a goal was to have every product in the alphabet. Amazon was incorporated in 1994, in the state of Washington. In July 1995, the company began service and sold its first book on amazon.com – Douglas Hofstadter’s Fluid Concepts and Creative Analogies: Computer Models of the Fundamental Mechanisms of Thought.. In 1996, it was reincorporated in Delaware. Amazon issued its
