What are the search capabilities of the newer internet ready blue ray players?

Beyond the channels that come pre-programmed like Netflix and Youtube, is it possible to search the web to find and watch other video content? For example, can I do a search to watch the recent ‘Sons of Anarchy’ episode from fxnetworks.com, or other content on similar websites?

I got a Samsung BD-C6500 recently. It has no browser, just a couple of applications to search Youtube and Getty image collection using the remote. Plus internet@tv which didn’t have much interesting either.
It is supposed to have DLNA to work with compatible media servers, but I don’t have one, so there’s no icon on the screen.
In principle, I suppose you could make a DLNA-compatible server which incorporated an Internet proxy which could stream in real time. The lack of a qwerty keyboard might make it awkward to use right from the TV.
