Used phones connect to VoIP and big savings

User-controlled VoIP IP PBX– This version operates only with IP (Internet Protocol) handsets, not digital models. It still works with both analog and digital telephone lines. Like a traditional phone system, the main equipment would be installed at the business site, so the user controls the system. There’s still redundancy of standard phone lines with this system, but the IP handsets cost more than digital handsets, so increased cost is a definite drawback.

VOIP-Only IP PBX – With this system, no controller is installed on-site, and everything is managed by the telecom supplier.  The benefit here is that rental charges for PSTN and ISDN phone lines are eliminated, but the big drawback is that if the Internet goes down, the phone connections go down, too. That’s often too big a risk to take for customer-service-oriented businesses.

With the right hardware installed, a company’s savings grow rapidly by using VoIP, where telecom charges are vastly lower than tradition long-distance calls.
