How is the Internet originally formed? who created the internet?is it possible to start up an internet company
Sometimes I always wondered why some internet service providers can offer more bandwidth than others. Secondly, is how they classify each types of connections, and what method was used. The following types of internet connection are following: cable modem, telephone, electrical socket or plug outlet, T3, T1, satelite, and DSL. Therefore, I am wondering what marketing strategies are used or needed. Lastly, I am extremely interested in learning what aspects were used in creating this extraordinary product and how did they make this product convenent to people all over the world! In addition, is it possible start up my own internet company, which would make me an internet service provider?
The Internet started as a small network linking the the University of California, Los Angeles and the Stanford Research Institute on 29 November 1969. By 5 December 1969, a 4-node network was connected by adding the University of Utah and the University of California, Santa Barbara. Building on ideas developed in ALOHAnet, the ARPANET started in 1972 and was growing rapidly, by 1981 the number of hosts had grown to 213, with a new host being added approximately every twenty days.
ARPANET became the technical core of what would become the Internet, and a primary tool in developing the technologies used. ARPANET development was centered around the Request for Comments (RFC) process, still used today for proposing and distributing Internet Protocols and Systems. RFC 1, entitled “Host Software”, was written by Steve Crocker from the University of California, Los Angeles, and published on April 7, 1969. These early years were documented in the 1972 film Computer Networks: The Heralds of Resource Sharing.

D-Link Power Over Ethernet Adapter $80 D-Link’s DWL-P50 Power over Ethernet Adapter enables both power and data to be transmitted to any non-PoE Ethernet Device that is deployed up to 328 feet (100m) away. Using standard Ethernet cabling connected to a 802.3af PoE midspan switch or PoE injector unit, the DWL-P50 is capable of receiving data and power to any 5V or 12V network device with virtually no reduction in data throughput. Features By using the DWL-P50, both data and electrical power can be delivered to a non-PoE Ethernet-enabled device from a single CAT5 Ethernet cable. The DWL-P50 is simple to install and requires no tools or software. Multiple DWL-P50 terminal units complement any PoE injector unit or midspan switch to provide small to medium business settings a complete end-to-end PoE solution. In addition, this unit supports 802.3af ensuring compatibility with other 802.3af PoE compliant injector units or midspan switches. Its compact size makes implementation extremely easy. During setup, this terminal unit can be set to power up any compatible 5V or 12V Ethernet-enabled device via the volt selector located on the back. Using the convenience of Power over Ethernet, you eliminate the need to place an Ethernet-enabled device, such as a wireless access point or an Internet camera near a power outlet. Having to manage only an Ethernet cable simplifies the physical installation of the device. You can now mount these devices on a ceiling or outside, up to 328 feet (100m) from a power source. With PoE, both power and data can be transmitted using standard Ethernet cabling with virtually no reduction in data throughput. Use the DWL-P50 with Ethernet-enabled devices where power outlets are not readily available and with any compatible PoE power source. Mathematics for Electrical Engineering and Computing by Attenborough, Mary Edition ILL, 1 $23.49 Mathematics for Electrical Engineering and Computing embraces many applications of modern mathematics, such as Boolean Algebra and Sets and Functions, and also teaches both discrete and continuous systems – particularly vital for Digital Signal Processing (DSP). In addition, as most modern engineers are required to study software, material suitable for Software Engineering – set theory, predicate and prepositional calculus, language and graph theory – is fully integrated into the book.Excessive technical detail and language are avoided, recognising that the real requirement for practising engineers is the need to understand the applications of mathematics in everyday engineering contexts. Emphasis is given to an appreciation of the fundamental concepts behind the mathematics, for problem solving and undertaking critical analysis of results, whether using a calculator or a computer. The text is backed up by numerous exercises and worked examples throughout, firmly rooted in engineering practice, ensuring that all mathematical theory introduced is directly relevant to real-world engineering. The book includes introductions to advanced topics such as Fourier analysis, vector calculus and random processes, also making this a suitable introductory text for second year undergraduates of electrical, electronic and computer engineering, undertaking engineering mathematics courses. The book is supported with a number of free online resources. On the companion website readers will find:* over 60 pages of Background Mathematics reinforcing introductory material for revision purposes in advance of your first year course* plotXpose software (for equation solving, and drawing graphs of simple functions, their derivatives, integrals and Fourier transforms)* problems and projects (linking directly to the software)In addition, for lecturers only, http://textbooks.elsevier.com features a complete worked solutions manual for the exercises in the book.Dr Attenborough is a former Senior Lecturer in the School of Electrical, Electronic and Information Engineering at South Bank University. She is currently Technical Director of The Webbery – Internet development company, Co. Donegal, Ireland.* Fundamental principles of mathematics introduced and applied in engineering practice, reinforced through over 300 examples directly relevant to real-world engineering* Over 60 pages of basic revision material available to download in advance of embarking on a first year course* Free website support, featuring complete solutions manual, background mathematics, plotXpose software, and further problems and projects enabling students to build on the concepts introduced, and put the theory into practice |
