New Business Leads: The Lifeblood That Keeps Your Business Going

Are you thinking about starting a new network marketing business? Are you a network marketing business owner? You need a constant supply of new business leads. Period. This is the gas that keeps your network marketing business running.

A constant supply of leads

A traditional brick and mortar business will have a building with a product or service to sell. Their marketing focus is to bring local customers to enter their building, to purchase their goods or use their services. The focus is to have a constant supply of customers that will use the service or product. Network marketing has no building. There is a company and a product. Some products are physical products (lotions and potions or technology products) and some products are information (training, know-how or events). The focus of home business lead generation is to have a constant flow of people interested in the product or the network marketing business opportunity. These are your new business leads.

The source of new business leads

There are many sources to buy new business leads and also many methods that can be used to generate new business leads for your business. Different marketing methods can be used for home business lead generation. I have listed six of the most common below:

  1. Offline marketing – examples include flyers, drop cards, banner signs, outdoor signs, exhibitions, personal contact marketing, presentations, magazine and journal adverts, newspaper ads, TV ads and radio ads. For some types of offline marketing (flyers, banner signs, drop cards) you do some physical work or you pay someone to do it for you.
  2. Offline to online marketing – this method is the same as 1 above with the exception that prospects are directed to a customized and personalized website. The website informs the prospect of the opportunity and serves as an additional screening method where people can make up their minds in their own space and place. The prospect can enter their details to request the business owner to contact them.
  3. Buy leads- there are several lead generation companies available that sells business opportunity leads to the network marketing industry. Most of these companies do telephone surveys or they have a website where they gather the information of business opportunity seekers requesting permission to find the right opportunity for them.
  4. Buy genealogy lists – a genealogy lists is simply a list of distributors. Some network marketing companies sell the personal information of distributors in their networks after they go out of business. You can buy the list and market to it. Some people buy these lists and then resell them to new business owners.
  5. Ad hoc online marketing – using whatever online method of marketing your company suggests you use. This could be free listings on the various online sites, listings on jobsites, pay-per-click advertising, banner advertising, article marketing, solo ads, forum marketing, social media marketing. It is typical to hop from one method of online marketing to another in a short period or even trying all of them at once. You may use these marketing methods to build a database of leads that are in your companies’ database (meaning they do not belong exclusively to you). You have enough information to start your marketing but not enough marketing skills to achieve the lead flow that will give you a breakthrough in your business. In this type of marketing, you remain the one that is hunting for business opportunity seekers.
  6. Generating targeted leads using an attraction marketing strategy and online marketing system – in this type of marketing you learn the skills from online leaders that mastered the various online marketing strategies. Through the marketing system you focus on improving your skills and the value that you have to offer to the marketplace. The emphases is on training, acquiring real online marketing skills and using the systems, lead capture pages, auto-responders and lead generation systems used by top producers in the industry to do targeted lead generation. With this marketing, you cannot hide behind your PC. You identify your strong points and you build on them while strengthening your weak points. You force yourself to become the leader that you want to follow.

Home business lead generation is a skill that you must acquire to ensure a constant flow of targeted leads that will guarantee success for your network marketing business. I will point out the most effective and most efficient way of generating your own new business leads on auto-pilot using the internet and highly converting capture pages. Do not miss the next post. I will discuss the pros and cons of the various home business lead generation methods. I will also give you the recommended method used by today’s industry leaders and a method that you can use to put your home business lead generation in overdrive and ensure a constant lead flow for a healthy network marketing business.
