Is Effective Marketing On The Internet Possible?

People nowadays are a bit reluctant to buy products from different companies not only because of the recession, but also because they have this perception that the products doing so much promotion are not that effective. It sounds like the excessive promotion is a lame excuse for the inefficacy of the product. One example would be marketing on the internet, where products and services are usually promoted through the use of pop-up ads and advertisements that are posted on different sites. Unfortunately, the more these ads appear, the less internet people bite. Would it be even possible for companies to come up with an effective strategy when it comes to internet marketing?

One reason why most people forego clicking on particular ads is that they did have experiences on clicking these ads, only to find themselves being trapped in a site full of viruses and bugs that do chaos on their computers. This is why product promotion on the internet has become very hard and sometimes not feasible, because people tend to ignore them or dissipate from them. Fortunately, there are ways to make marketing on the internet effective without doing much.

One way would be for a company member to register in numerous sites and act like he/she is one ordinary forum poster. For instance, he/she can put positive comments about the product he/she is supposed to promote. If a thread of that product cannot be found anywhere on the site, he/she can start a discussion about it and tell things that makes it a good buy. If there are negative comments about it, he/she should defend the product. However, the promoter should remain incognito by not being too aggressive about bringing the product up.

Another way of an effective internet marketing would be for the company promoters to have a deal with official sites like Yahoo or Google and promote their products in a creative way, such as making a home screen skin for that particular site. That way, the company and their product will be able to connect themselves with sites that people consider to be credible and effective in their services.

Lastly, internet marketing can also be done using promos and freebies that internet people can get by just doing simple things, like recording a video of themselves doing things that has something to do with the product. This is usually the most effective way, since it involves handing out money to the people who participate in such activity.

Internet marketing can be done effectively not only by doing such promotions, but also with the credibility of the product. Companies can do that by simply testing the product for effectiveness first before selling it to people. Marketing on the internet and other promotional activities will be senseless if more and more people do not see changes after using the product or service promoted. Since we are in times where money is scarce, people will tend to play wise and be more attentive to everything they do that involves cash.
