How do you set up wireless internet from a wired broadband router?
I supposedly have wireless broadband, bu I can’t connect to the network wirelessly as I have been told I should be able to. My household currently has a router/hub something that we connect a plethora of ethernet cords to to get internet throughout the house. I would like to set up wireless internet so that the two laptops and gaming system can access without having 100 ft and 200 ft wires running though the house. Yeah, seriously. I have tried to figure it out online with videos and such, but it seems that it applies to certain situation each time, and doesn’t include mine and I end up getting confused..
We have a wireless LAN bridge that is connected to a wireless broadband Linksys broadband router which shows that all the ethernet ports are full on front with little lights, and the WLAN is not lit up.. The model is WRT54GS.
I hope this isn’t overwhelming, I really need the help!
1) You don’t need a bridge, you can bridge the WRT54GS directly. http://webdingers.com/wordpress/2009/07/bridging-your-router/
2) Connect to the WRT54GS by cable and enable the wireless radio. http://192.168.1.1/Wireless_Basic.asp Wireless Network Mode: should be in G-Only mode, not Disabled. If it already is, the router could be bad.
