What am I supposed to do now?

I just bought a router kit(adapters included) to link all my home computers to the same internet connection(bellsouth) and during installation it says my router isn’t compatible(linksys mod:wrt54gs). I have no idea where to start to fix this issue. I considered buying a different kit ,but I again, I have no idea what IS compatible. I’m getting really frustrated over this entire thing.

Linksys Router Wireless-G(model WRT54GS)
Windows XP
When the router is connected, the internet doesn’t work. I had purchased a single linksys wireless router that appeared to be working perfectly(internet and router working simultaneously) ,but after realizing that I needed an adapter I returned it in exchanged for the linksys kit.

Hi, I used to be a linksys tech and now I work for AT&. If that’s the case you don’t have to run the setup disk of the router. You just have to setup the router manually.
Before you setup the router you must ask Bellsouth what type of modem your using and if it needs to be put in “BRIDGE MODE.” If it needs to be then ask them to assist you with that, if it doesn’t need to be you can go ahead and setup the router. Also ask from them your username and password.
To setup the router, launch your Internet Explorer browser and then in the address bar type in http://192.168.1.1 . That’s the router configuration page. Look for “Internet Connection Type” and then select PPPOE. It will ask for the username and password. Make sure that it is typed in correctly to get a good connection. Scroll down and click on “Save Settings.”
If you are not able to access the router page, try to turn off the modem, unplug the router from the power outlet and turn off the computer plugged in directly to the router. Wait for 15 seconds and turn the modem on first, wait for 20 seconds and then plug the router back in, wait for another 20 seconds and turn on the computer.
