How to light the briquets on the Weber Performance Grill?
When you light the Gas portion of the Weber Performance Grill, you have to make sure the lid is removed. MY QUESTION IS once you press the igniter and the flame comes on, are you supposed to replace the lid while the gas flame is lighting the charcoal ?
You leave the lid open when you light the gas,,,, to keep from building up LP gas and having a very large uncontrolled ignition. Once you have all the gas burners going,,,, and all you doing is heating up rocks or lighting the charcoal,,,, leave it down. Just open the vents to let plenty of air move through the unit.
