How do I make this webcam work? Help!

My dad bought me this webcam Genius Messenger 310, I did the installation procedure as said in the CD that came with it. But when I plug in the webcam itself, my computer says “Installing device software” and then a window would pop out and say: “Locate and install driver software”. It’s crazy. I installed it all before connecting it in my computer. Could it be that my computer not compatible with the webcam? I have a Pentium dual core, and Windows Vista as an OS. The webcam package says it works with Windows Vista too. Help please.

Ok, First Put the CD in the drive, Then plug in the cam, you should get a popup that says search for drivers, select a location, (C or D bla bla)
Make sure you check the install from location thing, Then it will ask you where to look, Point it to the CD drive with the CD in it, and click next. That should work,,

If not when you installed the software, you installed it somewhere, (you can go through the install again if your not sure) Its probably in Program files camera name or something like that. go back through the Detected new hardware and point it to where you installed the software, (it may be a folder in the camera folder called “vista driver files” or something like that.. Point it there and click ok..

One last thing, Before you do the above things, Look in your Start- All Programs- And see if there is anything new that looks like the camera ( it may have a main name like my sims is in the MAXIS folder, then sims.. Check there and see if there is software for it already installed.. If you see something like that and you click it and nothing happens. Open yahoo messanger and click someones name then click view webcam, it should open up your web cam with the yahoo software..
