Almost everyone who build puzzles simply pour out the pieces and start putting it together, without a preparation. They use what I refer to as tactics which in our example are like the pieces in the middle. They are what makes the puzzle complete, but if you start trying to build a puzzle or a business in our case with the middle pieces, and with no a strategy the likelihood is rather high that you simply will not finish it. It just becomes too challenging to achieve and therefore, one quits.
You simply have to be able to see the whole picture, and have a strategy on the way to get there.
There are fundamentally two schools of philosophy in network marketing one is referred to as the old school, and then you have what is referred to as new school. Things are beginning to evolve but the majority of network marketing even now today shows techniques built on old school marketing instead of teaching associates how to develop a strategy based on using the online world. You will continue to find these components as the foundation for how most people are taught to build their network marketing business.
* Make your list of 100 comprised of friends and family.
* Create a tickler file to help you remember people. Then think of people that are doctors, dentists, plumbers, electricians, etc.
* Cold Calling (needs no explanation).
* The 3 Foot Rule basically means anyone that comes within three feet of you becomes a target to hear your offer.
This is not to say that those do not work but for the majority of they will burn out before they reach success. It is kind of like using the yellow pages to look up a phone number or an address. Who does that anymore? Very few and that is why those companies are struggling and trying to move their business online. When you generate a detailed strategy it is easy to duplicate and can be executed by anybody willing to do it.
Today it is all in relation to leveraging the influence of the online world to put yourself and your products/services where people you might never have connected with can find you. It is about establishing yourself as an expert. People are looking for answers. They are looking for ways to take their business to a whole new level. This is not about just altering the 3 foot rule to the internet. We are seperating ourselves from people on the social networks that blast their info on Facebook and Twitter. It does not work. You have to build a relationship with a person before you ever talk to them about what you even do. We are branding ourselves as the experts we are.
