Can a cordless phone interfere with my wireless internet?

I have a laptop with a wireless internet card built in. I have noticed that when I have my computer near my living room, it does not connect or stay connected as well. Could this be due to the fact that my cordless phone is nearby? I have heard before that the two can interfere with each other.

Yes it can interfere.

Have you used, or are familiar setting up your router? If yes, just go head open the browser and navigate to open up your options. Generally you can change the channel your router is trasmiting. Try different channels, don’t forget to restar it everytime you set a new one. Try this until you find a clearer channel.

If you don’t know what I’m talking about, call tech support and have them help you do it. It shouldn’t take more than 2 mins to do it.
