Postcards As Contemporary Marketing Media
If there is one ancient marketing media that would help you generate traffic and sales from your modern-day website that would be postcards. These cards are not new or exciting, but they are deeply-rooted in our marketing history. For decades, they have served an important purpose not only in marketing but personal activities as well. When created well, they can really work effectively. The following are proven tips that can help you make the most of the old-fashioned postcards.
Determine what you want with your cards. Do you want it to gather new customers? Do you want to draw traffic to your website as well as your store? Do you want to generate repeat sales and build customer loyalty? Decide on what you want to ensure you get the most of your cards. In addition, determine what you want your prospects to do with your cards. For instance, do you want them to call you or check out your site? Do you want them to visit your shop or do something else?
Create the right mailing list. When you want your cards to cultivate repeat sales and customers, you need to have the best mailing list that consists of your profitable customers. That is easy to do as you already have your current list. But when you want to gather new customers, what you need is a mailing list. The good news is there are high quality lists available today that can communicate your message straight to your prospects.
For instance, take note of your prospects who, although are not ready to purchase your products today, are asking for details about products similar to what you sell. You can collect their names and use that on your next postcard printing campaign and when you have new products to offer.
Deliver a friendly message. People these days do not like receiving marketing messages. So, be sure to communicate only friendly messages that your prospects can relate to. Make sure that the design of your card looks like a message from a friend instead of an ad. This will ensure that your prospects generate a pleasing reaction and boost the responds you get.
For instance, create a design that you would use when sending a message to a friend. Use a font style and layout that is pleasing to the eyes, and keep away from borders or graphics that are frequently used in marketing.
Be sure to give your prospects a reason to make an action immediately. You can do this by providing incentives to encourage your prospects to act right away. Keep in mind that when people put your card down and do other activities, it increases the chance of forgetting about your card. It is critical that you provide them a reason take action at once. A good way to do this is to offer discounts, a special promo or other incentives. Be sure to put a deadline on your offerings to cultivate immediate response.
They have been around for years, yet until now they prove to be effective marketing tools.
