Can i hook up my xbox and computer to the internet with one cable using a splitter?

I have a router for my internet connection that has a cable running to my basement for my computer. I would like to know if there is a way to use this cable to have an internet connection for my xbox without running a cable all the way from my router? If i can do it with a splitter what kind will i need? how many male and female?

Yes. All you need is a triple male (2 on one side and one on the other) that can stretch all the way down to your basement. Or you should get one female on one side and two male on the other.

All you need to do is make sure that you give two different IP addresses to your different equipment (computer and xbox).
(you can make these yourself, just make sure the first three numbers are the same as your other private IPs)
