As a diligent shopper…I eliminated LCD or even LCD Back lit displays which give a “fakeness” to watching CGI laden movies like Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. What Panasonic TVS are known for are the Black Levels that create a more realistic picture.

The better the source of content that you’re watching…Blu-Ray, HDTV, HD-DVD(for those of us who still have a library and player) the more enjoyment you’ll have with you’re new TV.

Also, just to mention, I use a Harmony One remote control by Logitech…This allows for my multiple Panasonic TVs, a Denon Receiver, Cable boxes, a HP Touchsmart PC in the kitchen, XBox 360 and PS3 to all be controlled by one remote. This device by it self, is the best item of my whole system.

The new models are starting to ship. This is where you may just get a great deal from last years models. If you go for last years models….Stay with in the G-series or the V-Series of Panasonic TVS…My 58″ in the living from is an S-series…but I could not justify $1k difference to go to the V-series when I knew the 3-D technology was coming this year..Having said that, I paid 1379 for my 58″ TC-P58S1 TV. This was during Black Friday sales holiday.

In closing, I just personally viewed a Samsung 3-D TV and 3-D Blu-Ray Player. Amazing technology, but I’m sold on Panasonic, since it’s their cameras who record the movies.
